"God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think....."
Evangelist Valerie Edwards
Worshipper, servant and visionary are characteristics that best describe her. Evangelist Valerie Edwards was born in Montana and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She is the youngest of four children. In 2010 Evangelist Edwards became a licensed Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God In Christ, Inc.
Vessel Unto Honor
Evangelist Edwards serves faithfully at New Testament Church of God in Christ in Detroit, Michigan under the leadership of her Pastor and husband, Elder Brian Keith Edwards. She is the President of the “Vessels Unto Honor” Women’s Ministry, designed to build and equip women to walk in their Kingdom purpose. She has provided leadership and support in serving as Sunday School Teacher and mentoring youth as Purity Class Leader and Vacation Bible School Coordinator. Previously she functioned as District President of the Christian Women’s & Young Women’s Christian Councils, serving several local area churches. She can be heard every Friday at 7:00 p.m. (EST) on ”Grace & Strength for Life with Valerie Edwards” simulcast on WLQV AM 1500 and FM 92.7.
Educated at Lawrence Technological University, Evangelist Edwards holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. She is a 2007 graduate of Michigan Southwest First Jurisdiction’s Regina Rose Edwards Missionary Awareness Auxiliary Institute, and a 2017 graduate of the Geraldine Marvel Miller Wright Institute for Women in Ministry (GMMWI).
Married to her “childhood sweetheart” and best friend Evangelist Edwards has been married to Pastor Brian Keith Edwards for 32 years. She and Pastor Edwards have three lovely adult children; one of her greatest joys has been raising and nurturing them.
Evangelist Edwards describes herself as a “new wineskin” and has a passion for prayer and intercession; for it was at a prayer meeting at the 1992 Church of God In Christ International Women’s Convention that God healed her of debilitating migraine headaches that she suffered with since she was six years old. She is truly a testimony of God’s healing power!
Evangelist Edwards much loved scripture is:
I Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth”.
